    Civic Long Weekend – July 29th-31st
    It's the 4th Annual Big Weekend Festival. The weekend will kick off with the first round of the 2nd Annual Muskoka Beach Volleyball Blast Tournament taking place at the MacTier Ball Diamond on Friday evening, July 29th. There will be an outdoors movie showing of a top Blockbuster movie for the whole family to enjoy and a great comedy line up which includes Neil Crone, Kevin Frank and Jonny Harris. On Saturday family and friends can take part in a multitude of activities including a Fishing Derby, children’s entertainment, engage in a musical performance by Katherine Wheatley and Wendell Ferguson and dance the night away to Brant Babcock and his band Just For Kicks. We don’t want people to forget that Sunday is also action packed beginning with the 4th Annual Stewart Lake Regatta followed by the annual bonfire and corn roast. The finale evening kicks off with the Parade of Boats followed by a spectacular fireworks display by K&H Fireworks.     Once again it is time for Windermere s Annual Terry Fox Run. The date for this year s run is Sunday, September 18th beginning at 9am and ending at 11am. The past 10 years have brought out the true spirit of the Windermere citizens as they rally behind the Terry Fox Foundation band we plan to continue on with the tradition in 2011. The run route is 10km in length and participants can walk, bike, jog or wheelchair the event. The course will begin at Windermere Village Park, travelling along Windermere Rd, to Brackenrig Rd and back again. The road will not be closed during the run. Signage and enthusiastic volunteers will be used to warn drivers of the run in progress. As in the past, a trained first aid responder will be in attendance. After the run a BBQ with live band will take place in the Windermere Village Park from 11am until approximately 2pm.
